Because Mueller is a from-scratch redevelopment rather than an older subdivision, most of its slabs are still inside their first twenty years, which changes what we look for: less structural cracking, more of the original builder-grade coating just starting to fail.

• Mueller is the mixed-use redevelopment of Austin's former Robert Mueller Municipal Airport, which flew its last flight in 1999 before construction on the new neighborhood began in 2005 under a public-private partnership with Catellus Development Group.
• The airport itself opened in 1930 and its control tower and terminal were dedicated by then Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1961, history that is still visible in a few preserved structures around the neighborhood today.
