A Villages of Northpointe slab from 2003 and a Wildwood at Northpointe slab from the mid-2000s expansion are close in age but not identical, since they came from different builders under different specs. We test each one rather than assume the wider Northpointe name means one standard.

• Northpointe's Villages section dates back to 2003, while the newer 700-acre Wildwood at Northpointe, developed by Friendswood Development Company starting in the mid-2000s, added 1,350 more homes from builders like Lennar and Meritage.
• Wildwood at Northpointe is built around a network of lakes, ponds and trails on lots ranging from 55 to 75 feet wide, a tighter lot pattern than some of Tomball's newer master-planned communities.
