Trailer and Equipment CoatingFrames and racks that stay clean and protected

Trailers and work equipment live outside, get hit by gravel and sit in the wet. A primer-and-topcoat finish protects the steel and wipes clean.

Equipment we coat

If it is steel and it works outside, send a photo.

Flatbed and gooseneck frames

Main rails, cross members, fenders and gooseneck assemblies.

Headache racks and toolboxes

The pieces that take the most scrapes and splash.

Stock and utility trailers

Frames and gates that sit in weather all year.

Shop and job-site equipment

Carts, stands and fixtures that get dragged around.

How a steel coating job goes

The same four steps on every piece, whatever the size.

Look at the steel

What it is, where it lives and how it fails today: rust, peeling paint, chemical splash, or bare metal that has not been protected yet.

Prepare the surface

Coatings hold or fail on the prep. Rust, mill scale, oil and old paint come off down to clean, profiled metal.

Prime

A primer goes on bare steel to bond to it and slow rust from starting underneath the finish.

Topcoat and cure

A hard, washable topcoat in the color you choose, left to cure fully before the steel goes back to work.

Have steel that needs coating?

Send a photo and a rough size. We'll tell you what it needs.

Why coat a trailer instead of repainting it

A quick coat over a rusty frame looks fine for a season. Then the rust comes back through it and the whole job repeats.

  • Rust comes off firstFrames are taken back to clean metal before any primer goes on.
  • Primer where it countsWeld seams and edges, where rust starts first, get covered.
  • A finish that washes offMud, grease and road film wipe away from a smooth topcoat.
  • Looks like newA clean, even color on a trailer says something about the business that owns it.

Questions about steel coating

Can you coat a trailer frame that is already rusting?

Usually yes, after the rust and failing paint are removed to clean metal and the frame is primed. A coating over loose rust won't hold.

What coating is best for trailers in Texas?

An epoxy primer for bonding and moisture protection, topped with a UV-stable urethane for color, gloss and scuff resistance, is a common and sound choice.

Does the trailer have to be stripped to bare metal?

Not always. Sound existing coatings can sometimes be scuffed and recoated, while rust, bubbling and peeling areas are taken back to bare steel. It depends on what the photos show.

Can you coat headache racks, toolboxes and fenders?

Yes. Those pieces take the most scrapes, so they are worth including. Send a photo of each.

What should I send for a quote?

Photos of the frame, the type and length of trailer, and what stays on during the work. A free quote starts there.

Do you serve Houston, Austin and San Antonio?

Yes, all three metro areas and the towns around them.
